Mum's Story

Writing
In High5 we have been practising writing to describe. That means we are trying to get the reader to see what we see, we are using our words to create a picture. We have been adding details to our writing to help make the picture clearer.

Task:
Our job is to do this planning and write our own story about a person in our family that is special to us.

Success Criteria:
  • I planned my writing
  • I added details (what I can seehow my person moveswhat I might hear from my person)
  • I did some fixing by myself

My writing:

How I am going

Reflection

My favourite part was: thinking about mum and she is going to love my story.

It was really hard when: I used full stops in the wrong spot

Something that really helped me was: adding the details to my writing

Something new I learned was: I can add loads of details to my writing to make my writing clear. I was describing my mum.

Kerri Thinks
Yes, your mum is going to love your beautiful story! Thank you for sharing your mum with us and you ahve added details to your writing so we can she her how you see her. Putting full stops in the correct place can be very tricky. Remember to reread you writing, when you need to take a breath ot when you have got to the end of an idea - that is where the full stop goes. If you reread your writing a couple of times and practise it will get easier.
